I have the exact same problem, same setup worked fine for 2 days then booted to VGAsave. Unfortunately, as we found out – this Nvidia Quadro FX M card doesn’t like this setting, and it doesn’t have enough RAM to boot properly when the computer starts. I’m unsure if the installation order matters, but I’ve tried several combinations of uninstalling and installing drivers, and have had no luck thus far. Look for hidden devices. Thanks for marking this as the answer.

PopRockDec 19, You need one for the display as well as the network card. Cancel any requests to chage drivers on the hardware install screens that pop up. Have you been to the manufacturer’s site for drivers? I uninstalled SP3, then uninstalled all the following on device manager: If not that may be your problem.
I’d suggest re-downloading the latest driver for your video device and installing them, it should make Vgasave stop acting as the video.
